

Following a ballot in which a record number of Society members cast their vote the result has been declared in the election of two new members to serve on the Executive Board of the Samuel Beckett Society. Outgoing president Patrick Bixby announced that the next Vice President (to succeed to the Presidency in two years) will be José Francisco Fernández of the University of Almería, and that Katherine Weiss of California State University, Los Angeles will serve as an ordinary member of the board for the next four years. Professor Bixby added ‘With these new members in place, the Society will be in excellent hands for years to come. Please join me in welcoming them to our leadership team. As I hand over the reins to our next President, Elizabeth Barry of the University of Warwick, I want to wish them all good fortune as they guide our organization into the future’.
